Fifth Way

Final Ideology

Some main points of the book are presented in the form of short articles.

The central theme is the creation of a new ideology by combining elements of existing ideologies. The attempt should be perceived as a starting point rather than an ending point. Hopefully others will follow and make modifications, adjustments and additions. Fifth Way, like Third Way, is syncretic, designed to have a broad reach. USA's Democrats, Britain's Labor Party and Italy's Democrats follow Third Way. It is similar to Social Democracy with some differences.

Third Way is different than Third Position which was developed in Europe after World War II. It is syncretic too and named like this because it is a different political ideology (position) than Western Bloc's Capitalism and Eastern Bloc's Communism. It is considered neo-fascist. Although on one dimension Fascism (Third Position) and Third Way are placed far, on two dimensions, they could be close as can be seen in the graph below.

Fourth political theory has already been developed by Russian political analyst Alexander Dugin. It is also syncretic since it integrades and supersedes liberal democracy, Marxism and Fascism. So Dugin intergrades and supersedes Western Bloc's Capitalism, Eastern Bloc's Communism and Third Position (Fascism). Some consider Fourth political theory far right or alt right. Far right and alt right do not have a broad reach, unlike Third Way and Fifth Way.

Additionally, Fifth Way deals with other issues like globalization, immigration, economic development, free trade, political change. At the core of a political ideology is an economic system. So, more attention was given to the economic aspect. A political ideology is a lot more than an economic system. It has sociological and philosophical aspects and those are examined as well but to a lesser extent.

For the most part the book explains, clarifies and informs. This is absolutely necessary since there is a lot of confusion, misconception and ignorance. It is also making some suggestions that are common sense conclusions. Probably a lot of readers will agree. Even for those who do not agree because their reasoning is different, most part of the book will be extremely beneficial. The purpose is that readers form or refine their own ideology.

It is addressed to the average reader who can read the business section of a newspaper or economic and business magazines. It is not a scientific book but it gives some guide lines on practical matters. Use of technical terms was inevitable. It is no more technical than a business or economics magazine.
